As a claims specialist on our team, you'll play a critical role in our ability to successfully and efficiently resolve large-loss injury claims valued over $60k. Job Summary

Essential Job Functions
Client Representation:
Handle all aspects of defending an inventory of cases from assignment to conclusion
Handle all aspects of client relationships; initial client contact, keeping client informed of case status, evaluation and strategy throughout case
Provide advice, guidance, opinions and/or recommendations to clients on liability, damages and case value;
Prepare for and conduct litigation events (hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, trials and appeals)
Case Management:
Manage a complete inventory of cases and effectively prioritize work on all cases
Identify potential defenses and strategies to defend clients/case
Conduct legal research, investigation, discovery and analysis of relevant facts, file materials, case law and statutes
Identify, retain, and consult with experts
Prepare clients, witnesses, and experts for depositions, arbitrations, and trials
Maintain computerized case diary system/litigation support systems to meet deadlines and reporting guidelines
Review documents, records, and other evidence (medical and employment records, claims files, business records, medical reports and evaluations) to analyze and support recommendations, evaluations, and strategy on cases
Communication:
Provide effective and timely communications to clients and claims partners to keep them informed about the status, strategy, and evaluation of each case
Keep supervisor informed of work being performed for clients and of any and all problems encountered;

Explain plans, policies, and procedures to potential providers
A point of contact for Providers who are contracted within a specified target market (for this position: PA, VA, WV, MD)

Support and retention of offices in our dental networks
Complete onsite quality assessments

Use data and facts to identify and overcome objections

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required

GEICO Tech is seeking a highly motivated Tech Staff Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) Specialist to join GEICO's SRE Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining GEICO's BCDR policies and procedures for ensuring the resilience, continuity and recoverability of the organization's critical applications, platforms & infrastructure in the event of a disaster or disruption.
Position Description
A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the technology stack that supports our services and infrastructure as well as the BCDR domain knowledge to meet disaster recovery challenges that are constantly evolving. The associate will work across GEICO Tech organization to review system architecture and strategy documents and provide BCDR guidance aligning with our policy. The candidate will also work with service owners to make sure they have BCDR plans and capabilities that will allow them to quickly restore routine service operations as well as recover critical services from service disruptions.
Position Responsibilities
As a Staff Tech BCDR Specialist, you will:
* Develop and drive GEICO's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) strategy aligning with the organization's business goals and objectives.
* Collaborate on risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIA) to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization's operations and assets and develop recovery objectives (RTO & RPO).
* Review the design and architecture of GEICO's services, infrastructure and platforms and provide guidance on building resilient, scalable and recoverable systems, considering both active-active and active-passive solutions hosted on on-premises, cloud-based & hybrid data centers.
* Ensure that all businesses have an effective and up-to-date comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery plans that meet our BCDR policy & standards.
* Coordinate and conduct testing, simulations and tabletop exercises to validate, identify recovery gaps and improve the BCDR plans and capabilities.
* Develop cutting-edge BCDR reports with PowerBI, Tableau or other reporting tools/technology that includes BCDR metrics, BIA data, Recovery Time Objective (RTO) & Recovery Point Objective (RPO), Recovery Time & Point Actuals (RTA & RPA) etc. with GEICO Tech and CLT.
* Able to guide others and automate tasks using languages such as Python or Golang.
* Able to understand data at all levels, analyze trends, provide insights and actions. Influence customers and stakeholders with data to achieve BCDR goals.
* Provide leadership, guidance when necessary and support to the management and staff on disaster recovery and business continuity best practices and standards.
* Liaison and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as Tech, security, legal, compliance, vendors, and regulators to ensure alignment and compliance with the disaster recovery and business continuity objectives and requirements.
* Analyze internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
* Conduct year-end BCDR Risk Acceptance/Exception process for services unable to meet the mandatory BCDR requirements.
Qualifications:
* Solid track record of working in various disaster recovery scenarios like cyber incidents (e.g., ransomware), tech outages (Network/Power/Vendor platforms), catastrophic data loss, natural disasters etc.
* Solid understanding of various IT practices, methodologies, and principles, along with the knowledge of on-prem, cloud-based and hybrid data centers, network, compute, and storage technologies
* Deep understanding of IaaS and PaaS technologies, container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes), cloud efficiency and observability etc.
* Strong background in cyber and availability incident management processes
* Familiarity with cyber security best practices and compliance standards is a major plus
* Excellent leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and fostering professional growth
* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving operational excellence
* Thought leader with the ability to anticipate future challenges and opportunities with exceptional leadership and communication skills
