Who You Are:
Versar Global Solutions is looking for a Jr. PIV Support Specialist.
*This position is contingent upon award.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for conducting identity proofing by verifying and documenting two acceptable identity source documents provided by the applicant.
Attach completed Form I-9 when provided with DOT F 1681.
Review DOT F 1681 for accuracy and confirm authorized FAA sponsor signatures. Fingerprint applicants as needed.
Photograph applicants as needed.
Collect applicant’s investigative forms (if needed) and provide them to the registrar.
Enter information into the IMS or CMS identification media systems.
Confirm registrar (PSS) authorization before issuing the PIV card.
Issue ID cards using FAA-approved processes, including remote badge issuance.
Notify applicants when their cards are ready for pickup.
Verify identity at pickup using biometric fingerprint and delivering the ID card.
Provide guidance to applicants on safeguarding and reporting lost or stolen IDs.
File or scan DOT Form 1681.
Assist other Personnel Security Specialists as needed. May travel to FAA regional facilities to support rollout of the PIV ID card process, as directed by the Division Manager.
What You’ll Bring:
AA/AS in related field.
Two (2) years of experience with at least one year of PIV card diagnostics experience.
Experience working with PIV provisioning software, PIV Card diagnosis experience is a must. Experience with computer systems, applications and web applications, and Microsoft Office to include Outlook.
Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively deal with customers and diffuse potential problems.
Must have good organizational skills, be detail oriented, and able to meet agency and customer deadlines.
Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.
Compensation
Expected Salary: $60,000 - $87,000 per year

Network Management Support Professionals
Dulles Town Center, VA
Management Applications, Inc., a leading provider of Networking and Managed IT Services is seeking high level IT professionals to support a contract serving Virginia Area Community Colleges. These services will include the management, monitoring and alerting on edge routers, firewalls, voice gateways and servers at varying VA locations.
Background
The private WAN connects multiple colleges. The WAN peers with the commodity Internet via 10 Gigabit connections located in Ashburn and Richmond. The majority of these circuits connect at speeds of 100 Mbps to 300 Mbps and are in the process of being upgraded to 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and gigabit speeds. In the near future, all of these primary circuits will be backed up with a smaller secondary circuit (40 Mbps - 100 Mbps) from a different provider for redundancy. The routers are all Cisco 1001X models and include Cisco Prime. WAN services are delivered by Cox, LUMOS, Comcast and Verizon.

Maintenance Coordination
WAN is the main communication channel for critical applications and services. Maintenance is normally scheduled/performed during late night or very early morning hours. All non-emergency maintenance must be scheduled at least 10 business days in advance to provide end users adequate notice and make sure service interruptions are kept to a minimum. All maintenance must be pre-approved by the campus CIO or their designee.
VCCS Network Monitoring System
Traverse and Cacti are used for monitoring. Colleges are encouraged to open edge devices to System Office monitoring which will require further configuration to automate alarms and notices allowing for complete monitoring of all edge devices on the network.
Backup Services
Responsible for backing up all network equipment and providing the files to the Director of Enterprise Services as needed.
Change Management and Release Management
Responsible Change and Release Management processes. Follow and log the processes so that stakeholders are kept updated as needed.
Education and Certification Requirements
Four-year degrees preferred. Will consider AS, AAS and no degrees should the applicant have high-level job experience.

Primary Responsibilities
1) Performs the integration of new COTS/GOTS systems (network equipment, servers, workstations, etc) into the production environment, responsible for ensuring mission readiness.
2) Manages change controls for documentation within a configuration management database (CMDB) and performs corrective action on any discrepancies or findings.
3) Develops technical solutions and resolves complex user, computer, server, network, appliance, and application issues. Independently and consistently records, manages, and updates these solutions in a knowledge database and ticketing system.
4) Reviews data from a DoD Network Monitoring System. Reviews historical data and proactively audits systems to ensure they meet program requirements. Assesses risks and remediates incidents.
5) Once trained on the program specific equipment, the candidate will be relied on as an expert in their AOR, and will be expected to analyze issues, make remediation recommendations to management, and subsequently carry out those remediation processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 2 - 4+ years' prior relevant experience. Or Master's with 2 years' prior relevant experience. A High School diploma with an additional 2 years' relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Interim Top-Secret clearance is required with ability to obtain a Final Top Secret.
- Experienced with one or more of the following Windows Server administration tools: WSUS, Group Policy, Active Directory, RDP, etc.
- Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2022 troubleshooting.
- GOTS/COTS application, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Industrial computer and Dell systems installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Tier 2 Help Desk support with some Tier 3 support (75% and 25% respectively).

Based in downtown Washington, D.C., the Foundation for Defense of Democracies has a number of internship opportunities available. All FDD interns will have the opportunity to participate in a twice-monthly speaker series, which brings high-level DC officials and senior staff members to engage with interns in an intimate setting. Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation
FDD's Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation (CCTI) is seeking part-time or full-time interns. CCTI promotes a greater understanding within the U.S. government, private sector, and allied countries of the threats and opportunities to national security and economic prosperity posed by the rapidly expanding technological environment. Interns will work closely with CCTI director Annie Fixler, senior policy analyst Jiwon Ma, and CCTI Senior Director RADM (ret) Mark Montgomery to conduct research on cyber capabilities and intentions of U.S. adversaries and on policy and technological solutions to these challenges.
Qualified interns will have coursework in international relations, national security policy, computer science, and/or a relevant STEM field of study. Qualified interns will have an interest in the intersection between cyber, national security, and economic power, as well as the ability to work alone and as a member of a team. An understanding of computer networking, cybersecurity best practices, writing for government audiences, and previous research on cyber-related topics is a plus. Experience on Capitol Hill is helpful, but certainly not required. Standout candidates are responsive, self-motivated, and able to learn and work quickly.
