How do you list a CDL on a resume?
You list a CDL on a resume in the profile summary, education & certification section, and/or skills section. Having a commercial driver's license (CDL) is definitely a big perk and something the hiring manager will definitely want to see in a resume of a potential truck driver candidate.
The profile summary is a great way to draw attention quickly to the fact that you're a qualified CDL driver. Also, be sure to include the type of CDL license(s) you have and how long you have been a driver. For example, "Dependable CDL-A OTR Truck Driver with over five years experience."
Immediately following your profile summary, we recommend including a certification section that lists your CDL certifications, including the date it was issued and state. You can also mention CDL certifications in the education section or list them in the skills section.
